About Us

House System

Every pupil at The Lewis School belongs to one of four houses. Each house has its own core value and colour, helping to create a strong sense of identity, belonging and community across the school. Our House System has a strong focus on the Welsh language and culture, which sits at the heart everything we do.

Our school house system is based around trees because they beautifully reflect who we are as a school community.

Tŷ Criafol

The rowan tree is famous for its bright red berries and its incredible ability to grow in tough, rocky places where other trees might struggle.

Tŷ Celyn

The holly tree is a symbol of lasting strength and loyalty. While other trees lose their leaves in the winter, the holly stays bright and full of life all year round.

Tŷ Derwen

The oak tree is the king of the forest, famous for its incredible strength, wisdom, and long life. It grows from a tiny acorn into a massive, steady tree with roots that run incredibly deep into the earth.

Tŷ Bedwen

The birch tree is known as the "pioneer tree" because it is always the very first tree to grow back and bring life into a new area.
